This is the 5th post in this series. You can start at the beginning with The Fool.
For this comparison, I have used these decks: Everyday Witch Tarot, Crystal Visions Tarot, Happy Tarot, and The Gilded Tarot.
The first thing that comes to mind when I see the Emperor is a strong male leader. This would be someone firm, but fair. The Emperor is the authority figure, or even a Father figure.
In each image he is holding a scepter (or Ankh) while wearing a crown (or headdress). This is symbolic of his ruling over his kingdom. There's no need to worry though, he is a fair ruler who you can trust to follow.
In the background of the Everyday Witch Tarot and Happy Tarot (and in the Foreground of the Crystal Visions Tarot) you see a mountain range and this represents his strong foundation.
The Emperor looks on without expression, for he is not worried about what may come; he knows he has the strength and wisdom to take anything head on.
The Emperor is also known for being a protector of his people.
Did you notice any other similarities? What do they make you think of?
I hope you're enjoying Tarot by Comparison!
Next up is The Hierophant.
