For this comparison, I have used these decks: Crystal Visions Tarot, The Green Witch Tarot, The Gilded Tarot, and Happy Tarot.
The Tower Card is all about loss or chaos. It feels like everything is crumbling down around you and falling apart… and it is. But it’s only temporary.
The Tower card comes up when we are transitioning from one situation to the other. It’s a big change, that’s hard and painful, like maybe a death in the family, or even losing a dream job.
It can leave us feeling hopeless and depressed, but really these fallen bricks are just the foundation to a new beginning. The details to the situation are found in the other cards around it.
But how do we get this definition from these images?
In Happy Tarot you can see revered people fallen from the tower, which is on fire and underneath a storm cloud. There is nothing good happening here.
In The Gilded Tarot, you see a naked man flailing as he falls from a tower that split in half, looking as though it exploded. In the sky you see lightning cracking down. Everything about this situation spells chaos.
In The Green Witch Tarot you see the Horsemen of the Apocalypse in the sky and parts of the tower starting to crumble. We know complete destruction is imminent.
You see the same theme in Crystal Visions Tarot: tower is split in half, crumbling to the ground, lightning in the sky, the waves are crashing up, chaos, destruction… it’s bad. Really bad.
